Alaska Children’s Therapy (ACT) is dedicated to helping children reach their highest potential by striving for successful functioning and independence in all areas of daily living. We use a play-based, family centered approach to help each child succeed, one milestone at a time. ACT believes the early years in a child’s development are integral to optimizing success throughout grade school years and beyond. At Alaska Children’s Therapy, we provide specialized pediatric occupational therapy services. Our goal is to work closely with parents and caregivers by using a collaborative approach to support and maximize each child’s development through important “occupations”. An occupation is any activity that occupies your time and is meaningful and purposeful. In a 6-month-old, this may look like banging a toy on the highchair. When working closely with families, this may look like educating parents how to use and select a certain toy to help their child learn how to facilitate an appropriate grasp or improve hand-eye coordination.
